Our history

Riverside was launched by Mali enthusiasts, who have resided in the country for over 15 years. Fascinated by the majestic Niger river, a veritable inland sea, we chose to focus a large part of our holidays on the banks of this living space.

We initially created circuits for ourselves, so that we could discover and explore remote regions in pleasant conditions. First we invited out friends from abroad and our neighbours from Bamako, in search of something different. Backed by our experience in the field, the logistics and resources of Mali, we decided to open up to an international clientele.
Our aim: offer you the same quality travel experience as our friends and neighbours enjoyed and fire your enthusiasm for this incredible country!

Riverside's strong points

Adventure tours revealing varied landscapes, unusual itineraries where you'll discover people who have preserved intact the authenticity of their traditions.
Bivouac Innovative bivouac equipment, selected with care to ensure your comfort whatever the circumstance. Our encampments and hotels respect our requirements in full, from aesthetics, through to hygiene and well-being.
Top-range Transport vehicles, equipped for fatigue-free travelling. Our 4x4, jet skis, pirogues and boats are purchased new, then carefully maintained to guarantee your travel safety.
Qualified Malian guides, speaking several local languages. They are assisted by local people of note who welcome you to their villages where you'll encounter traditional ethnic groups, skills and savoir-vivre.
Quality cuisine and varied meals (Malian and international menus), prepared by professional chefs. Festive evenings to savour the local atmosphere and have a great time.

Our tourist ethics

Because we visit areas away from the tourist flow, we favour relationships of trust with the natives. Riverside tours are based on a humanist philosophy, where respect of traditional cultures and the environment are at its very core.

Through our activity, we wish to favour the sustainable development of the country. We have established partnership agreements with local dignitaries. We thus conduct actions of solidarity and mutual aid with the villagers to maintain an equitable tourism.

Our tourist ethics are based on the respect of each individual for the basic rules of good conduct, both in terms of personal behaviour and navigating on the river.

The social codes and basic values of a people or an ethnic group are often different, sometimes in conflict with our own. We make you aware of this as from your arrival in Mali, so that your trip is truly a moment of spiritual and cultural enrichment.
